Massage therapy may be the oldest form of medical care, depicted in Egyptian tomb drawings and Chinese text dating back to 2,700 BC. Today, people continue to use massage to benefit blood pressure, circulation, muscle tone, digestion, and skin tone as well as relax after a stressful day. Massage can also help speed healing after an injury, and enhance recovery from disease. With all of the great benefits of massage therapy, it is no wonder that it is such a growing field.
Being a massage therapist is a rewarding career, but is it one that you are suited to? Being a successful massage therapist requires not only a solid technical understanding, but the massage therapist must also have good communication skills and be able to work with a wide variety of personality types.
Most US states require a minimum level or training in order to be licensed to work. Schooling for massage therapy can take up to 1000 hours and two years, but for thousands of massage therapists its all worth it.
Once your formal training is complete, the difficult decision is whether to start your own practice or work in an established facility. If your planning on starting you own practice, be patient. It can take months to build a solid business. If youre up for it, make a plan. Rome was not built in a day, and neither will your successful practice. Know your budget. I know that youre a Massage Therapist because you want to help people, but the rent doesnt pay itself. Track how much you make and how much you spend. By carefully tracking, you can better plan for large purchases, like a new massage table. In addition, keeping an eye on your budget will keep your goals on track. If you want to grow by ten percent a month, then you need to know how well you did last month.
Advertise. No one is going to come to you if they dont know you exist! Getting involved in your community is one of the best ways to get your name out without spending a lot of money. Volunteer at your towns annual fun run. Giving chair massages for a day will get you in front of a whole new group of potential clientele.

3. From a skills level, you certainly will have to know how to do basic things on the computer. However, most home businesses now make it possible for you to be set up and started with them in a very short period of time.
They do this by providing everything that you need, except traffic to your website. This means that you do get a website of your own, and all the money is collected and the products are shipped for you.
This is a few reasons why an Internet home business is not hard to do. If you are willing to you apply yourself, and learn and marketing skills, you can certainly make money at home on the Internet.

My business model is to sell products online through simple, home-made websites, or auctions sites like eBay. I use both Paid Search marketing on Google, Yahoo, and MSN, plus I do my own search engine optimization to promote my website to the first pages of these search engines. Its not easy work, but the rewards are starting to present themselves. Its taken over a year to find niche brand name products that are popular enough to sell and have good profit margins.
The reason I share my little history is that my business model is one of the most common being used to generate money online. It didnt take a lot of thought or an original idea to start generating online revenue. I decided to follow what other successful e-retailers are doing and make it work, which is find a popular product with low wholesale costs and out sell the competition.
If you have a unique idea that you feel would benefit many people, but all means pursue it and make lots of money. But before investing lots of time, double-check, even triple-check that a large volume of people would actually pay for what you are offering.
Most individuals these days read or get spammed with the emails stating the its super easy to make money online. When comparing online revenue to traditional storefront retailing, this is true. But it does take considerable amount of time and effort to make an idea or product list grow within the competitive landscape before the sales start to come in.
I personally use World Wide Brands as a product source. I also keep tabs on the new toys and cool gadgets that hit the market place. There are also many free resources that point out current retail trends.
